How the Journey Began…

The Menlo College Finance Hybrid Conference (FHC) was founded by the Finance & Real Estate Faculty at Menlo College on September 22, 2023, in Atherton California. The vision of the FHC is to explore the intersection between academia and practice. The first conference demonstrated engagement with speakers, moderators, researchers, students, industry participants and sponsors, forms the basis for planning for future Finance Hybrid Conferences.

The 2023 Finance Hybrid Conference

The 2023 Finance Hybrid Conference (FHC 1.0) was a pivotal event in the realm of finance and real estate studies in the Silicon Valley of California. The Finance Hybrid Conference not only set a high academic standard, it also united a wide array of participants, including renowned speakers, global researchers, alumni, students, and esteemed professors.” Vice President and Dean of the School of Business Dr. Mouwafac Sidaoui, Menlo College

I was thrilled by this chance to get to know Menlo College students and faculty at their Finance Hybrid Conference. I learned a lot from many conference participants about issues related to my presentation on the future of money and payments. I enjoyed the panel discussions and the presentations by visiting researchers. Menlo College President Steven Weiner was extremely generous with his time, giving me an excellent overview of the history of the school and his exciting plans for its future. I also formed some nice new connections with Menlo students. I am extremely grateful to Professor Faten Ben Bouheni and Menlo College student Sophia Umanzor for arranging my visit so well. It was a perfect day!” Professor Darrell Duffie, Stanford University

The Mission of the Finance Hybrid Conference is to provide a “learning-networking” platform for diverse groups of academics, students, and practitioners – most anyone curious about the latest trends in the finance and real estate industries. It offered participants the opportunity to stay ahead of the curve in today's fast-changing world, in no small part by incorporating considerations of emerging technologies.

We look forward to 2024 FHC as another opportunity to shape the future of finance and real estate while exploring the limitless possibilities that lie at the intersection of innovation, technology, and durability.
